The 205 square meter space of Yi Yun Art is a testament to the vision of the owner and the design team. The interior is adorned with white walls and ceilings furnished with tracks, allowing for a versatile and dynamic environment for art activities. The small exhibition area on the left features fair-faced walls, ebony wood floors, and dim lighting, creating an elegant and intimate setting that enhances the value of the artworks on display. This area stands in stark contrast to the luminous space at the entrance, creating an intriguing visual experience for visitors.
Even the washroom in Yi Yun Art is a work of art in itself. It is embellished with antique wood grain bricks and a delicate round mirror framed with brown leather, creating a small art exhibition within the space. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure a cohesive and immersive experience for art enthusiasts.
The design concept of Yi Yun Art revolves around the idea of contrast and eternal nature. The word "Yi" represents variation and uniformity, while "Yun" symbolizes the eternal essence that may change in forms. Together, they signify the contrasts between different elements and the enduring nature of art.
The design team faced several challenges in bringing Yi Yun Art to life. The front courtyard, adorned with autumn maple trees, vintage doors, and cultured stones, sets the tone for an artistic and oriental impression. The rust-finish entry doors instantly capture attention and create a sense of anticipation for what lies beyond.
Yi Yun Art was completed in December 2016 and has since become a prominent space for art exchanges and exhibitions in Taipei City. Its unique design and attention to detail have garnered recognition, including the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 for Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to the improvement of quality of life.
Yi Yun Art, with its captivating design and commitment to showcasing artworks, stands as a testament to the power of spaces to inspire and evoke emotions. It is a place where art and design converge, creating a truly immersive experience for visitors and artists alike.
